A pumpkin masterclass in the style of Yayoi Kusama

October 23, 2016

With Halloween approaching what better was to get the children engaged than a pumpkin painting session in the style of Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama. We paid homage to Kusama's lifelong obsession with its bulbous form by using her signature style of repetitive dots to decorate our very own.  We prepped all the pumpkins with a bright yellow emulsion to give a vibrant base for the children to create their masterpieces and gave them the option of either painting or using marker pen to draw their dotty designs. The children LOVED this class, as did we! The results are really fun.  We loved how individual their creations were. Happy Halloween!
