Going Bananas for Warhol

January 25, 2017

Using Warhol's iconic artwork for Velvet Underground's album cover as inspiration the children explored how to make a pop art print in today's masterclass.  They each chose either a banana or apple to work with and practised drawing them in black marker pen and felt tips. They each then selected a set of coloured contrasting papers and drew out their bananas or apples on 4 of the squares. To create the pop art print effect they painted the inside skin of the banana or apple in black paint and pressed this down onto the shapes they had cut out.  So simple yet super effective.
